About This Session

Uploading is an ignored part of web technology, but it's critical to getting content into your web app. In this talk you will learn how to:
  • Use the latest HTML5 drag-and-drop uploading to make uploads simple and fast
  • Seamlessly support older browsers with Flash and Ajax uploading
  • Effectively handle large files and entire folders using browser plugins
I will show how Box.net uses progressive enhancement to do all of the above with minimal pain and maximal code re-use. Presentation slides are here: https://www.box.net/shared/rengot0fq0b9r2le45hi
